For the first time this October, Ministers from countries around the world will gather for the express purpose of address pressing issues in mental health.

Hosted by the UK Government in partnership with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and with support from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit will bring together Ministers, researchers, policy makers and people with lived experience from more than 30 countries to tackle shared challenges such as stigma, treatment access, and innovation.

Dr. Raymond Lam, APEC Digital Hub for Mental Health Executive Director, will provide a panel presentation on the role of and opportunities for employers in promoting workplace mental health, one of a series of sessions addressing the economics of and returns on investments in mental health.

Coinciding with announcements of the Summit, Canadian Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor, UK Secretary for Health and Social Care Jeremy Hunt, and Australian Minister for Health Greg Hunt also announced their governments' launch of a joint Alliance of Champions for Mental Health and Wellbeing.  Through high-level advocacy and events such as the Summit, the Alliance aims to promote international cooperation and galvanize action in global mental health.
