Dr. Andy Greenshaw, APEC Digital Hub for Mental Health scientific director, will speak on a panel during the G7 Multistakeholder Conference on Artificial Intelligence, taking place tomorrow.
Titled “From Research to Commercialization,” the panel takes place from 3-4 p.m. and is moderated by James Kurose, Assistant Director for Computer and Information Science and Engineering, National Science Foundation.
Other panelists include Lucilla Sioli, DG CNECT Director for AI and Digital Industry; Genevieve Tanguay, National Research Council of Canada Vice-president Emerging Technologies; and Michael Zeller, Software AG Senior Vice-president of AI Strategy and Innovation.
Panelists will speak about challenges when it comes to R&D, AI deployment and commercialization.
“The world is changing rapidly and artificial intelligence solutions are permeating every sphere of life,” Dr. Greenshaw said. “The need for, and economic opportunities related to, AI solutions in health are compelling and in this context Canada has impressive assets that can be harnessed quickly. We can achieve huge national economic benefit through collaborative solution-oriented interplay of the Canadian private sector and health provider organizations with our leading academic AI and health experts.”
