The Ministry of Health of Indonesia's mission is to improve public health status through community empowerment, including the private sector and civil society; protect the public health by assuring the availability of a complete health efforts, uneven quality and equitable; ensure the availability and distribution of health resources; and, create good governance.

Among several strategic objectives, the Ministry seeks to empower communities, private sector and civil society in health development through national and global cooperation; engage in the improvement of equitable, affordable, evidence- based quality health services, including promotion and preventive initiatives; increase the availability, distribution, and affordability of medicines and medical devices as well as ensure the safety, efficacy, benefits, and quality of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and food; and, improve the accountable, transparent, efficient and effective health management to strengthen the responsible health decentralization.
